   Dussert-Gerber French Wine Guide 2005 edition :

The Sumeire family vineyard extends over 300 hectares with an average vine age of 30 years. Plowing and traditional culture, then, harvest done by hand explain this Côtes de Provence Chateau de Maupague red 2003. Issued from a rocky clay and alluvions terroir, where the suaveness allied with structure gives this wine, deep in colour, nuances of jammy fruit. The Rosé is nicely tinted, supple and delicious.

Chateau L’Afrique rouge 2000 (beautiful label) is rich and deep in colour with a nose of black cherry and spice. This wine is concentrated and persistant with a good stucture. The rosé 2003 has a pleasant nose of citrus fruit.

The Cuvée César 2000, presented in a superb case of 12 bottles created by the sculptor César, is concentrated and dense with nuances of black truffle. This solid wine has a promising evolution and makes a grand entrance in our classification 2005. We need not hesitate on this vintage.
